Application Resources, Inc., was founded in 1983 to provide software development services to organizations in the Metropolitan New York area. Later on the company began to specialize in Stratus VOS Systems and since 1990 ARI was 100% focused on Stratus VOS Product Development.

The first product developed was DBQ. This software product enables users to execute SQL queries and produce reports directly from VOS files. It was released in June, 1991. It is currently in production at many sites in North America, Mexico, South America and Europe.

Later on, ARI and SoftMark, Inc. (SM) formed a strategic alliance to develop, sell and support Stratus VOS Software Solutions to the Stratus customer base world wide. Today, SM is responsible for VOS Solutions R&D while ARI is responsible for World Wide Sales & Support.

Recently, Stratus Technologies agreed to resell & support ARI/SM products. Today, Stratus VOS customers all over the world can acquire ARI/SM products directly from their Stratus local representative.

ARI/SM software programs provide solutions to many issues that are of major concern to Stratus customers like: Alert Management System, Real Time Disaster Recovery, Performance Monitors, Security Monitoring, Program Scheduling, Data Encryption, Web Interface to VOS, SQL Access to VOS files, Windows Terminal Emulation for VOS.

Last year a new security product was launched in order to help Stratus customers comply with Payment Cards Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards. VOS Auditor provides Stratus customers 100% compliance with PCI Standards.

ARI recently partnered with Whitecap Applications for development of Periscope (Universal Data Access).
